Terms of Service

Effective date: April 12, 2026

By using Almanac ("the App"), you agree to these terms.

What Almanac does

Almanac helps you track document expiry dates and sends reminders before they expire. It uses AI to scan documents and extract expiry dates. It provides renewal guidance for supported countries.

Accounts

You can use the App without an account (limited to 3 documents). Creating an account enables cloud backup and multi-device sync. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

Purchases

The Vault upgrade is a one-time in-app purchase of $4.99 (or local equivalent) processed by Apple or Google. It unlocks unlimited documents. Refunds are handled by the respective app store per their refund policy.

Your data

You own your data. We store it to provide the service. You can delete it at any time (individual documents or your entire account). See our Privacy Policy for details.

AI scanning

The document scanning feature uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to extract expiry dates from photos. Results may not always be accurate. Always verify the extracted date before relying on it. Photos are processed and immediately discarded — they are never stored.

Reminders

Almanac sends local notifications to remind you of upcoming expiry dates. These are best-effort — we cannot guarantee delivery due to device settings, OS restrictions, or app state. Almanac is not liable for missed reminders or expired documents.

Renewal guides

Renewal walkthrough content is provided as general guidance. It may not reflect the most current procedures, fees, or requirements. Always verify with the relevant government authority.

Limitation of liability

Almanac is provided "as is." We are not responsible for expired documents, missed deadlines, incorrect AI scanning results, or any consequences of relying on the App. Use your own judgment.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
